Mark Bai
Chinese jazz pianist and composer Mark Bai is at the forefront of a new wave of musicians contributing to China’s emerging jazz scene. While Mark was working on his undergraduate degree at the Nanjing University of the Arts, he studied with renowned Canadian pianist David Braid. In 2005 after his graduation, Mark moved to Shanghai and soon became an integral part of the jazz scene, going on to perform and record with most active Chinese jazz artists. He performs regularly at JZ festival in Shanghai and joined Finnish jazz trumpeter Verneri Pohjola for recording his personal album in Helsinki, 2010. In 2016, after his graduation of master at the Shanghai conservatory of music, Mark was invited to perform at the famous Luxemburg music festival, as the one of two most representative jazz artists of Chinese. From his musical experience of jazz, he had shared stages with the greatest legends such as David Binney, Conrad Herwig, Don Braden, Gene Jackson, Steve Nelson, Kurt Rosenwinkel and others.
As for a new musical trip, Mark came to the Netherland in 2017.
